The Bulls Head - Market Harborough, Leicestershire
DescriptionThe Bull’s Head public house is located at the heart of the picturesque village of Clipston, just a short driving distance from junction 2 of the A14 and within easy reach of the Market Harborough. The surrounding area is steeped in a local history with the English Trust building of Kelmarsh Hall and the site of the historic battle of Naseby close by and this traditional village inn is no exception with its original beams and historical features having many stories to tell. It has been said that the Bull’s Head was a popular venue for young American pilots from the Harrington Air Base during World War II and when they were called for secret duties they would leave their coins to pay for the drinks if they returned and to toast their memory if they did not. Today the coins have been placed within the cracks of the old beams and this is one of the many features that can be seen in this authentic 17th century building. It is therefore, not surprising that with all this history the Bull’s Head has been named as one of Northamptonshire’s ten most hunted pubs. Today this exceptional village Inn is family owned and run and the unique features, old beams and open fires places ensure that a warm, friendly and inviting welcome is waiting for you. All food is sourced locally, where possible, and is prepared and cooked to order on the premises. We make a great effort to cater for all tastes, whether it be our newly introduced Sunday Carvery, grill and salad nigh, hot & spicy night or one of specialist themed dining experiences. All our food is also accompanied by our extensive wine list or if tradition is your fancy we have a fine selection of real ales. With over 20 years of public house experience we intend for you to witness and feel the atmosphere of a traditional village inn and if you wish you may take part in a game of Skittles or stay overnight in our comfortable en-suite accommodation.
