The Garden House - Durham, County Durham

Garden House dates back to the 1840’s. It is set in a rural conservation area only a short drive from Durham City or the market town of Bishop Auckland. The house was converted from servants’ cottages, previously part of the neighbouring Windlestone Hall (former estate of Sir Anthony Eden) and has a magnificent 180 feet long walled garden, in which guests can stroll and relax in the summerhouse. We offer our guests a high standard of accommodation, with a choice of double or twin bedded rooms, complete with en-suite bathroom. An adjoining private sitting room has views over open countryside where sheep graze alongside woods inhabited by deer and badgers At Garden House you will find tastefully furnished rooms, log fires, comfort and tranquillity. Dining in the conservatory offers residents a superb view of the garden. We take great pride in the wealth of flowers and shrubs, which give Garden House its unique appeal, whatever the season.
