The British Queen - Willingdon, East Sussex

The British Queen was originally a double fronted Georgian building, probably formerly two cottages. Customers entering the front door turned right into the taproom with its bare floorboards and hatch, where the beer was served. Across the passage on the left was a beer parlor. Today’s mock Tudor façade was built in 1935, when the star brewery engaged Herbert Compton to re-design some of its houses in this attractive style. Courage brewery took it over in 1965 and enlarged the property. There will be a warm and friendly atmosphere found when entering the pub. From out selection of beers and wines you can enjoy a drink and a chat at the bar, or perhaps at the table whilst looking through out extensive menu. Or see what the British Queens chef has to put on the specials board. You may like to sit in the pubs comfortable restaurant instead and be served an enjoyable meal. With a large beer garden, sheltered smoking area and car park to the rear of the building it is a fabulous place to relax with a refreshing drink during the summer months. Friendly bar staff and disabled access are available throughout the premises, making this pub suitable place for everyone. All customers of any age can stay amused whilst either using the pool table, dartboard or listening to the jukebox. With live music, karaoke nights and quiz nights, the Queens is the perfect place for a busy night out through the week or weekend. If there is a small occasion coming up why not hire the Queens luxurious function which sits up to around 25 guests.
