Description

The Mannamead originally started life as a bank listed as far back as the 1870’s. The name Mannamead originated from the Anglo-Saxon phrase ‘Gemoene Moed’ meaning ‘Communal Fields’. The pub is situated on the famous Mutely Plain, which was so called after the Anglo-Saxon word ‘Mot-Leah’ meaning ‘a clearing where meetings are held’. This name reflects the overall atmosphere and aura of the pub today as a place where people meet and make good times. We serve a wide range of ales, lagers, wines and soft drinks for all non-drinkers and drivers something to suit all tastes from the young, trendy drinkers who appreciate our selection of fruit ciders and cocktails to our more distinguished, mature drinkers who prefer to opt for one our vast selection of local and world ales.
