Description

The Carpenters Arms is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere. Intriguingly, our cellars have many passages that lead to Windsor Castle which were used until the early 19th Century but have now been bricked up. Built in 1518, The Carpenters Arms has a continuous history as public house and etchings on the windows reflect our name and the likely clientele of carpenters. The Crooked House, which sits opposite our pub, is of similar age. You will find The Carpenters Arms in Windsor within a short stroll of Windsor Castle, Thames Street and Castle Hill - however you won't find another like it. Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its heartily classic pub food, such as our famous pies, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality. It has also won the local CAMRA pub of the year award in 2006, 2008 and 2010 and we have a beautiful beer gold award and Cask Marque accreditation. All in all a winning pub and a must if you’re in the area.
